By now we all know how important it is to protect our skin from the Sun. Unfortunately though, despite your best efforts, you might occasionally find yourself dealing with raw, sunburnt skin which is never fun.
Sunburn can be quite painful and, of course, I’d recommend you try to avoid it altogether! But we’re all human and if you do find yourself dealing with sunburn, here are my tips for how best to treat inflamed, sunburnt skin.
1. The most important thing is to immediately stop using any exfoliating products on your skin. This includes anything that has active ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide (Acne Gel), mandelic acid (Mandelic Serum) , salicylic acid, retinols etc. If you are using an exfoliating cleanser such as Acne Wash or Mandelic Wash, stop using these and switch to a very gentle cleanser such as the PoreInfusion Sensitive Skin Wash.

2. Keep your skin hydrated! Apply a gentle water based soothing, hydrating product such as our PoreInfusion Hydra Gel. This is a great water-based hydrator with calming aloe and soothing panthenol that will help provide a cooling sensation and boost your skin’s hydration.

3. Finally, always wear sun protection! Even if you are already sunburnt you must ensure your skin is protected from the sun with a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Try our PoreInfusion Clear Shield SPF 50+; this is a very gentle, zinc-based formula which is both healing for the skin and excellent for acne prone skin as it won’t clog pores.
